Single Parents's Benefit
As from January 2017, single parents who are also following their
studies on full-time basis at Post-Secondary, Vocational and Tertiary level of
education, must apply for Supplementary Allowances using the online
application. When applying for Supplementary Allowances, single parents’ students
would also be applying automatically for the Single Parents’ Benefit.
Students wishing to communicate with the Students' Maintenance Grants’
Office regarding this benefit may send an email using the online application
itself, using the contact us button. All emails are directed to the attention of the Students’ Maintenance
Grants’ Board.
The Single Parents’ Grants are credited in a staggered process. The additional
annual grant as established by the Subsidiary Legislation 605.6 is given
as one lump sum to eligible students in the Second Semester.
The
Students’ Maintenance Grants’ Board reserves the right to verify the
information submitted and request additional information and/or documentation
if necessary.
